A domestic dispute in Tabaquite turned violent on Monday evening when a man was allegedly attacked and wounded by his brother with a cutlass.
The 31-year-old victim told police he was at his home along Main Road around 6.30 pm when an altercation broke out between the siblings. During the confrontation, his 40-year-old brother allegedly armed himself with a cutlass and attacked him, causing serious injuries.
The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested by police.
The injured man was initially taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility before being transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he remained warded in a serious condition. He suffered a laceration to the forehead resulting in a skull fracture, as well as a wound to his right hand.
Officers of the Brasso Police Station are continuing investigations.
