A do­mes­tic dis­pute in Tabaquite turned vi­o­lent on Mon­day evening when a man was al­leged­ly at­tacked and wound­ed by his broth­er with a cut­lass.

The 31-year-old vic­tim told po­lice he was at his home along Main Road around 6.30 pm when an al­ter­ca­tion broke out be­tween the sib­lings. Dur­ing the con­fronta­tion, his 40-year-old broth­er al­leged­ly armed him­self with a cut­lass and at­tacked him, caus­ing se­ri­ous in­juries.

The sus­pect fled the scene but was lat­er ar­rest­ed by po­lice.

The in­jured man was ini­tial­ly tak­en to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty be­fore be­ing trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, where he re­mained ward­ed in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion. He suf­fered a lac­er­a­tion to the fore­head re­sult­ing in a skull frac­ture, as well as a wound to his right hand.
