A Lance Corporal of the T&T Defence Force appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with the murder of Chezerae Kidney-Ramdass.

The police service said Kevin Hamilton, 40, also called Frame of Upper Belle Road, Belmont, Port-of-Spain, appeared before Master Whitney Franklin at South Court C charged with murder. He was not called upon to plead and was remanded in custody.

A sufficiency hearing is set for September 30.

The charge stemmed from a shooting incident at Orchid Gardens, Pleasantville, in which 29-year-old Kidney-Ramdass was killed on January 29.

Kidney-Ramdass, who operated a small shop out of her apartment window, heard the bell indicating a customer was present. When she went to check, she was shot dead.
