Strong reactions in Mayaro to Paray’s replacement

The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress’ de­ci­sion to re­place Rush­ton Paray with Nicholas Mor­ris to do bat­tle for the Ma­yaro con­stituen­cy has elicit­ed a range of re­ac­tions from con­stituents.

Here’s what some peo­ple had to say.

David Tang: “That is very wrong be­cause he from around the area and he help a lot of peo­ple and this Mor­ris from Guaya he not liv­ing here and not see­ing the peo­ple’s needs.”

Michael Pe­ruze: “It not look­ing good, he was do­ing good work so me ent see noth­ing wrong.”

Desmond Ram­coon: “I’m not sure what tran­spired with the in­ter­nal ram­blings but if there was some­thing more in the mor­tar or forth­com­ing from Mr Paray a so­lu­tion could have been made as to his can­di­da­cy.”

Sha­heed Al­i­bo­cas: “I be­lieve they should have re­moved Rush­ton Paray years now, they make me do all kind of things for them, cam­paign and all kind of thing and when time to fix a riv­er he telling me PNM in pow­er so why make we walk with al­lyuh and al­lyuh cant do noth­ing.”

Mar­tin: “I feel that is the bet­ter thing so he might help the younger youths in Ma­yaro be­cause we want to see an ease up the crime.”

Jessie: “When they use­less you re­place them so that is how I feel, re­place him. “

Sel­wyn Ward: “I felt be­trayed, sick to my bones. Every sin­gle year Rush­ton goes up for Ma­yaro as a rep­re­sen­ta­tive he did what it takes to make Ma­yaro a bet­ter place.
