The man wanted in connection with the murder of missing woman Candice Honore was apprehended by police in Sangre Grande yesterday.
Honore, 22, of Caigual Road, Sangre Chiquito, was reported missing by relatives on July 10—two days after she failed to return home from work in Valencia.
Last Thursday, dismembered human remains believed to be hers were discovered stuffed inside a suitcase that had been dumped in a shallow pond off Oropouche Road, Valencia.
The suspect, reportedly Honore’s ex-boyfriend, had recently been released from prison and had been on the run since the discovery.
At least one other man has been questioned in connection with the case after he told police he may have unknowingly assisted in disposing of Honore’s remains. He claimed he used his wheelbarrow to help transport the suitcase from the suspect’s residence, which he shared with others.
The suitcase was recovered from the pond on July 17 by members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by Vallence Rambharat.
