The man want­ed in con­nec­tion with the mur­der of miss­ing woman Can­dice Hon­ore was ap­pre­hend­ed by po­lice in San­gre Grande yes­ter­day.

Hon­ore, 22, of Caigual Road, San­gre Chiq­ui­to, was re­port­ed miss­ing by rel­a­tives on Ju­ly 10—two days af­ter she failed to re­turn home from work in Va­len­cia.

Last Thurs­day, dis­mem­bered hu­man re­mains be­lieved to be hers were dis­cov­ered stuffed in­side a suit­case that had been dumped in a shal­low pond off Oropouche Road, Va­len­cia.

The sus­pect, re­port­ed­ly Hon­ore’s ex-boyfriend, had re­cent­ly been re­leased from prison and had been on the run since the dis­cov­ery.

At least one oth­er man has been ques­tioned in con­nec­tion with the case af­ter he told po­lice he may have un­know­ing­ly as­sist­ed in dis­pos­ing of Hon­ore’s re­mains. He claimed he used his wheel­bar­row to help trans­port the suit­case from the sus­pect’s res­i­dence, which he shared with oth­ers.

The suit­case was re­cov­ered from the pond on Ju­ly 17 by mem­bers of the Hunters Search and Res­cue Team, led by Val­lence Ramb­harat.
