Three days af­ter a 30-year-old Arou­ca man was ar­rest­ed for the mur­der of tod­dler Jereem George, the sus­pect took his own life.

Po­lice re­port­ed that the man, iden­ti­fied as An­der­son “Beads­man” Git­tens, died by sui­cide at the Mal­abar Po­lice Sta­tion yes­ter­day evening.

Git­tens was held on Tues­day and was as­sist­ing po­lice with their in­ves­ti­ga­tions. 

Lit­tle Jereem was asleep at his moth­er’s Chris­t­ian Av­enue Ex­ten­sion, Windy Hill, Arou­ca home last Thurs­day night when his home was set ablaze.

Jereem’s moth­er, Geneiel George, and her 14-year-old son tried to res­cue the tod­dler, but could not reach him be­cause of the in­ten­si­ty of the flames.
