Police said the suspect, along with his attorney, turned himself in to police officers at the San Fernando Homicide Bureau around 4 pm on Tuesday.
He was reportedly on the run since Sunday.

Police are also said to be reviewing CCTV surveillance footage which showed how the incident unfolded at Savary Road on Sunday.

Police and residents claimed Teelucksingh was shot when the suspect allegedly opened fire on a group, including her brother, on the way to confront him for reportedly beating and robbing an elderly man in the area.

The teen, a Carapichaima East Secondary School student, died on Monday after being taken off life support. She was shot in the head.

But yesterday, investigators on the case continued their call for eyewitnesses to come forward.

Speaking with Guardian Media in a phone interview, Isabella’s relatives said they were unsure if they wanted witnesses to speak up.

When pressed as to why, a family member said in a hostile voice that the matter is an ongoing police investigation and they are not sure what they want.

Asked if they wanted justice for Teelucksingh’s death, the family member gave no response and instead ended the phone conversation.

Meanwhile, the 55-year-old man who was allegedly beaten by the suspect said he gave a statement to the police. He said he was contacted by the police to come into the station.

Isabella’s aunt, 20, who was shot in the pelvis during the incident, underwent emergency surgery and remains hospitalised.
Funeral arrangements for the teen are yet to be made.
