Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the mur­der of a San­ta Cruz man in San Juan yes­ter­day morn­ing.

The vic­tim was iden­ti­fied as Alex­is O’Con­ner, 43, of La Canoa Road, San­ta Cruz.

Re­ports in­di­cate that gun­shots were heard around 10 am along La For­tune Hill, off Laven­tille Road, San Juan, and up­on check­ing, res­i­dents found the taxi-dri­ver’s bul­let-rid­dled body be­hind the steer­ing wheel of his taxi, an AD wag­on.

North East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force of­fi­cers, Cpl Daniel and PCs Gay, Khan, Jef­fers and Mor­ris re­spond­ed.

Af­ter dis­cov­er­ing O’Con­ner dead in his ve­hi­cle, of­fi­cers re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that an­oth­er man was shot in a near­by house and was tak­en to hos­pi­tal in an un­known ve­hi­cle by a dri­ver. Homi­cide Re­gion 1 and SERU CSI of­fi­cers processed the scene.

DMO Dr Kalloopro­nounced O’Con­ner dead and or­dered the body re­moved to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre.
