Temporary Traffic Disruption: Southern Main Road, Mc Bean, Couva, Calcutta Road No.1 Junction

The Min­istry of Works and Trans­port is ad­vis­ing the pub­lic of the tem­po­rary traf­fic dis­rup­tion along the South­ern Main Road, Mc Bean, Cou­va 31.5 km mark, (Junc­tion of South­ern Main Road and Cal­cut­ta Road No.1) on Tues­day 12th April 2022 at 7:00 p.m., un­til Wednes­day 13th April 2022 at 5:00 am.

Ac­cord­ing to this re­lease, it is nec­es­sary in or­der to fa­cil­i­tate the Re­place­ment of a Cylin­der Cross­ing. De­tails fol­low in this press re­lease from the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port:

The Min­istry of Works and Trans­port wish­es to ad­vise the pub­lic that there will be a tem­po­rary traf­fic dis­rup­tion along the South­ern Main Road, Mc Bean, Cou­va 31.5 km mark, (Junc­tion of South­ern Main Road and Cal­cut­ta Road No.1). This is nec­es­sary in or­der to fa­cil­i­tate the Re­place­ment of a Cylin­der Cross­ing. Works are ex­pect­ed to com­mence on Tues­day 12th April 2022 at 7:00 p.m., un­til Wednes­day 13th April 2022 at 5:00 am.

The fol­low­ing al­ter­na­tive route is avail­able via

• Cam­den Road, Base Road, Cal­cut­ta Road No.2 Ext, Cal­cut­ta Road No.2, Cal­cut­ta Road No.1, Son­ny Ladoo Trace

In light of the above, mo­torists are ad­vised to com­ply with the fol­low­ing:

• Lo­cal traf­fic ON­LY would be al­lowed to tra­verse up to the work zone and not be­yond.
• Pro­ceed with cau­tion and ob­serve all di­rec­tion­al signs and bar­ri­ers.

• Com­ply with in­struc­tions from Po­lice Of­fi­cers or flag per­sons on-site, to fa­cil­i­tate a safe and or­der­ly flow of traf­fic.

• Be aware of heavy equip­ment in the work zone and en­ter­ing/ex­it­ing the site. • Mo­torists should dri­ve at a re­duced speed and pro­ceed with cau­tion, on ap­proach­ing the work zone.
