Three men have been arrested in connection with the robbery which took place at the Suarez Brothers Circus at Endeavour Avenue, Chaguanas, on Tuesday 29 October 2024, according to police reports.
A release from the Police Service credits an intelligence-led operation conducted yesterday between 6:15 pm and 10:15 pm, in the Chaguanas district, with the arrests.
During the exercise, officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department arrested three male suspects, ages 20 to 32 years of Claxton Bay, in connection with the incident.
On October 29 at 8:10 pm, Ruben Suarez, along with other employees, was at the circus site along Endeavour Avenue, Chaguanas, when four gunmen in a white Nissan B15 drove in and began shooting.
The circus had held its last show on Sunday and was already packed and awaiting transport to leave the country for Jamaica.
Police said Suarez was about to pay employees when the gunmen robbed him of his passport and other personal documents and some $30,000 in cash. Two employees were robbed of $2,800 in total.
