Three sus­pects were ar­rest­ed and a firearm and quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion seized by of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the Cunu­pia dis­trict on Tues­day.

Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed the ex­er­cise be­tween 3 pm and 10 pm dur­ing which they stopped a white Nis­san AD Wag­on at the cor­ner of Chin Chin and Madras Roads, Cunu­pia, with three male oc­cu­pants.

A search of the ve­hi­cle re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of one re­volver loaded with three rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

The three sus­pects; all aged 26, of Arou­ca, San Juan and Clax­ton Bay, were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

Fur­ther checks re­vealed that the ve­hi­cle bore a false num­ber plate. Mean­while, of­fi­cers of the In­ter-Agency Task Force with the

as­sis­tance of the Ca­nine Branch, con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise in the El So­cor­ro dis­trict, be­tween 3 pm and 8 pm, yes­ter­day, dur­ing which

they pro­ceed­ed to an aban­doned lot of land at Jo­jo Lane.

A search of the area re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of a pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 12 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion. Two ad­di­tion­al

emp­ty mag­a­zines and a quan­ti­ty of co­caine were al­so found at the lo­ca­tion.

In the North­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers of the Ari­ma In­tel­li­gence and Op­er­a­tions Unit con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 8:30 pm and 11:30 pm, yes­ter­day, which re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of a firearm loaded with four rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.
