To­ba­go po­lice seized more than $1.1 mil­lion worth of mar­i­jua­na and ar­rest­ed three sus­pects dur­ing an ear­ly morn­ing op­er­a­tion in Canaan yes­ter­day.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, of­fi­cers act­ed on in­tel­li­gence re­ceived and ex­er­cised pow­ers un­der the State of Emer­gency to raid a house on Young Street, Canaan, be­tween 3 am and 6 am.

Dur­ing a search of the premis­es, of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered 33.2 kilo­grammes of cannabis with an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $1,105,800, along with 100 rounds of 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion.

The three sus­pects, aged 27, 29 and 36, all of Young Street, were ar­rest­ed.

The op­er­a­tion was con­duct­ed un­der the di­rec­tion of ACP Rishi Singh, co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Rod­hil Kirk, spear­head­ed by ASP Ma­halia Bac­chus and In­sp Al­leyne, and su­per­vised by W/Ag Sgt Ew­ing and Cpl Lewis.

Of­fi­cers from the Crown Point Po­lice Sta­tion, To­ba­go Di­vi­sion­al Task Force, In­ter-Agency Task Force and Ca­nine Unit par­tic­i­pat­ed in the ex­er­cise.
