One more person has tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago over the past 24 hours. The number of current active infections now stands at 270.

That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Monday 13 June 2022.

The report also shows that while people in Tobago continue to be infected with COVID-19, many previously infected people are recovering from the disease, as another 29 people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

That means at present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 9,382.

In addition, the THA Health Division report notes that no new deaths from the disease have been recorded over the past 24 hours, so the island’s death toll from COVID-19 remains at 269.

The most recent death was reported on Sunday 29 May 2022, with a fully vaccinated person identified as the deceased on that date.

The Tobago COVID-19 update for 13 June 2022 also says that 19 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19.  Fifteen of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while the other four patients have been fully vaccinated.
