Nine more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago over the past 24 hours. The number of current active infections now stands at 154.
That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Tuesday 21 June 2022.
The report also shows that while people in Tobago continue to be infected with COVID-19, many previously infected people are recovering from the disease, as another six people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
At present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 9,561.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes that no new deaths from the disease have been recorded over the past 24 hours, so the island’s death toll from COVID-19 remains at 270.
The most recent death was reported on Monday 20 June 2022, with an unvaccinated person identified as the deceased on that date. It was the first recorded since May 29.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 21 June 2022 also says that 17 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19. Ten of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while the other seven patients have been fully vaccinated.
