Tobago’s electorate has increased marginally - but there will be no change in Tobago’s 12 boundaries for upcoming Tobago House of Assembly elections.
This information is contained in an Election and Boundaries Commission on Tobago boundaries.
The report was laid in Parliament yesterday.
The THA dissolved last month. Polls are due up to a limit of three months after - February 2021.
The EBC stated that compared to 2016, Tobago’s electorate up to July had risen from 48 677 to 50, 789.
The highest number of electors was 4, 649 and the lowest, 3, 759 .
The highest number of electors is in Black Rock /Whim/Spring Garden.
The lowest is in Parlatuvier/La A’nse Fourmi/Speyside.
The EBC stated no adjustment was necessary for the existing boundaries. It was noted the electorate in an area didn’t exceed or was less than the number of electors in any other areas of Tobago by more than 25 per cent. See Page A 15
