Tobago man held after allegedly chopping 2 women

One man is in po­lice cus­tody and is ex­pect­ed to be charged af­ter two sis­ters were chopped dur­ing a home in­va­sion in To­ba­go ear­ly Mon­day morn­ing.

Just be­fore dawn, the sis­ters were at­tacked at their home in Cradley Trace, Con­cor­dia. Po­lice say the man en­tered through a win­dow and used a cut­lass to wound both women af­ter an ar­gu­ment.

One of the sis­ters was asleep when the at­tack be­gan. The oth­er came to help and was al­so in­jured.

Of­fi­cers from the Scar­bor­ough Po­lice Sta­tion ar­rest­ed the sus­pect at the scene. He ad­mit­ted to us­ing a cut­lass but could not say how bad­ly the sis­ters were in­jured. One had a wound to her fore­head.

Both vic­tims were tak­en to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment. The weapon was not re­cov­ered. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing. —Eliz­a­beth Gon­za­les
