One man is in police custody and is expected to be charged after two sisters were chopped during a home invasion in Tobago early Monday morning.
Just before dawn, the sisters were attacked at their home in Cradley Trace, Concordia. Police say the man entered through a window and used a cutlass to wound both women after an argument.
One of the sisters was asleep when the attack began. The other came to help and was also injured.
Officers from the Scarborough Police Station arrested the suspect at the scene. He admitted to using a cutlass but could not say how badly the sisters were injured. One had a wound to her forehead.
Both victims were taken to the Scarborough General Hospital for treatment. The weapon was not recovered. Investigations are ongoing. —Elizabeth Gonzales
