To­ba­go po­lice are await­ing the re­sults of an au­top­sy to de­ter­mine what caused the death of 47-year-old Lyn­don De Leon, whose body was found along the Shir­van Road on Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the dis­cov­ery was made around 6.30 am by a 35-year-old car­pen­ter of Bel­mar Trace Ex­ten­sion, Buc­coo, who was dri­ving along the road­way when he no­ticed a man ly­ing on the south­ern side of the road. He im­me­di­ate­ly con­tact­ed of­fi­cers at the Shir­van Road Po­lice Sta­tion.

PC Shep­pard and PC Mark re­spond­ed and, up­on ar­rival, found the body of a man of African de­scent, dressed in a grey and black jer­sey, black three-quar­ter jeans, and black-and-white slip­pers.

De Leon was lat­er iden­ti­fied by his girl­friend from Orop­une Gar­dens. She con­firmed to of­fi­cers that he lived at Buc­coo New Road.

Po­lice not­ed that there ap­peared to be blood on De Leon’s face. An au­top­sy is to be done this week at the Scar­bor­ough Mor­tu­ary to de­ter­mine the cause of death.
