Tobago police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine what caused the death of 47-year-old Lyndon De Leon, whose body was found along the Shirvan Road on Saturday morning.
According to police, the discovery was made around 6.30 am by a 35-year-old carpenter of Belmar Trace Extension, Buccoo, who was driving along the roadway when he noticed a man lying on the southern side of the road. He immediately contacted officers at the Shirvan Road Police Station.
PC Sheppard and PC Mark responded and, upon arrival, found the body of a man of African descent, dressed in a grey and black jersey, black three-quarter jeans, and black-and-white slippers.
De Leon was later identified by his girlfriend from Oropune Gardens. She confirmed to officers that he lived at Buccoo New Road.
Police noted that there appeared to be blood on De Leon’s face. An autopsy is to be done this week at the Scarborough Mortuary to determine the cause of death.
