Tobago records 1 new COVID death, 10 new cases

A ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed per­son is the lat­est COVID-19 vic­tim in To­ba­go, ac­cord­ing to the up­date for Sun­day 23 Jan­u­ary 2022, re­leased by the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).

Ac­cord­ing to the up­date, this is the on­ly new death record­ed on the is­land over the past 24 hours, and brings the to­tal on the is­land, since March 2020, to 224 lives lost.

There has been an uptick in the num­ber of new pos­i­tive COVID-19 cas­es—some 10 new cas­es were record­ed, bring­ing the cur­rent num­ber of ac­tive pos­i­tive cas­es to 724.

The Di­vi­sion’s up­date al­so re­ports that some 39 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19. Of these, 32 have not been vac­ci­nat­ed against the dis­ease, while sev­en per­sons have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

At present, some 5,516 peo­ple in To­ba­go have sur­vived and ful­ly re­cov­ered from COVID-19.

In terms of the is­land's vac­ci­na­tion dri­ve... Some 4,343 peo­ple have re­ceived boost­er dos­es of a COVID-19 vac­cine, as of Mon­day 24 Jan­u­ary 2022.

The Di­vi­sion re­ports that 23,903 To­bag­o­ni­ans have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed with ei­ther a sin­gle-dose or two-dose reg­i­men.  The num­ber of par­tial­ly vac­ci­nat­ed per­sons—those with on­ly one dose of a two-dose reg­i­men—now stands at 1,173.
