Tobago reports 58 new COVID cases, 15 hospitalised

There were 58 new pos­i­tive COVID-19 cas­es re­port­ed in To­ba­go over the past 24 hours.  The num­ber of cur­rent ac­tive in­fec­tions on the is­land now stands at 508.

That’s ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), dat­ed Fri­day 29 April 2022.

The re­port al­so notes that no new deaths have been record­ed, and as such, the death toll re­mains at 265.  

The most re­cent death on the is­land was re­port­ed this week, on Thurs­day 28 April 2022. Pri­or to that date, there was one COVID-19 death in To­ba­go re­port­ed on Fri­day 22nd April 2022. In both in­stances, a ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed per­son was record­ed as the COVID-19 de­ceased.

The THA Health Di­vi­sion al­so is re­port­ing that 15 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19.  Fif­teen of these pa­tients have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while five pa­tients have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

The To­ba­go COVID-19 up­date for 29 April 2022 says at present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 7,942.
