Days after being granted bail on gang offence charges, artiste Mescach Emmanuel, also known as Plumpy Boss, was arrested and charged with a cocaine trafficking offence.
Emmanuel appeared before High Court Master Margaret Sookraj-Goswani, on Monday and was remanded into custody to reappear today for the court to consider bail. He was jointly charged with two other people- Keston Adams and Joseph "Medz Boss" Olliviere. They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor asked for an opportunity to have them traced.
It is alleged that on Saturday the police searched a car along the Solomon Hochoy Highway, near Gasparillo, and found 18 grammes of cocaine in a plastic bag. The driver and occupants in the vehicle were held.
Emmanuel was charged on July 1 with being a gang member, professing to be a gang member, and professing to be a gang member in order to promote a gang.
He was granted $350,000 bail. That matter was adjourned to July 26.
