The T&T Police Service (TTPS) is currently working with the Royal Grenada Police Force to apprehend Trinibad artiste Zarin “Two Guns” Wheeler, who is wanted in connection with a murder on that island.
Wheeler, 26, of Belgrade Street, East Dry River, Port-of-Spain, has reportedly gone into hiding following claims that international authorities are now spearheading the manhunt for him.
Guardian Media understands that four officers assigned to the Interpol Bureau visited the East Dry River area between 5.30 pm and 6 pm on Wednesday as part of the search effort.
In a release dated June 29, the Royal Grenada Police Force appealed for the public’s help in locating Wheeler. They described him as having a slim build, brown complexion, dark brown eyes, and black hair.
Grenada officials advised that Wheeler “is wanted by police for questioning in connection with the offence of capital murder.” And they warned, “This suspect may be armed and dangerous and should be approached with caution.”
Wheeler was said to have visited Grenada as part of a music tour that spanned two months and allegedly returned to Trinidad in mid-June. Police said that residents in the East Dry River area claimed to have seen and spoken to Wheeler up to Wednesday.
Anyone with information on Wheeler’s whereabouts is asked to contact the nearest police station.
This is the latest controversy surrounding Trinibad artistes. From July 2020 to date, close to a dozen Trinibad performers have either been killed by gunmen or by the police. Several others have managed to escape after attempts were made on their lives.
