Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) says people can expect gusty winds in excess of 60km/hr especially in the vicinity of showers.

The Met Office says in the event of heavy downpours and thunderstorms, downdrafts may exceed 75km/hr.

"These strong winds may be brief but are capable of displacing unsecured roofs, loose outdoor objects, toppling trees and weak structures," it said.

The Met Office says marine craft can be adversely impacted by these strong winds and visibility may be extremely low during dusk and dawn and wind waves occasionally near 2.5m are also expected with agitated seas.

"Secure loose outdoor objects and livestock. Avoid unnecessary outdoor activity where possible. Marine interests should also exercise extreme caution during this period. Monitor sea conditions. Follow the instructions of lifeguards," it said.
