One day af­ter Health Min­is­ter Ter­rence Deyals­ingh an­nounced the State was pre­pared to of­fer quar­an­tine ac­com­mo­da­tions for those whose homes do not com­fort­ably al­low for this – two ad­di­tion­al COVID-19 re­lat­ed deaths have been record­ed.

In its 10 am up­date ear­li­er to­day, the Min­istry of Health con­firmed the deaths of two adult males who had been suf­fer­ing with co-mor­bidi­ties.

The lat­est deaths have now brought the lo­cal death toll to 21.

Pri­or to this, four deaths were record­ed be­tween Thurs­day and Fri­day.

Mean­while, 38 new cas­es were record­ed be­tween 6 pm on Sat­ur­day and 10 am to­day – bring­ing the ac­tive num­ber of cas­es up to 990.

Of­fi­cials have in­di­cat­ed the 38 new pa­tients will be processed for ad­mis­sion, based on the dis­cre­tion of the Coun­ty Med­ical Of­fi­cer of Health (CMOH).

Fur­ther, an ad­di­tion­al eight per­sons have been dis­charged, bring­ing the to­tal num­ber of dis­charged per­sons to 672.

The min­istry al­so in­di­cat­ed 75 pa­tients re­main hos­pi­tal­ized, with 59 at the Cou­va Hos­pi­tal and Mul­ti Train­ing Fa­cil­i­ty; and 16 at the Cau­ra Hos­pi­tal.

There are 870 per­sons who are in home iso­la­tion and said to be un­der the con­tin­u­ous mon­i­tor­ing of the re­spec­tive CMOHs.
