Hun­dreds turned out for the fu­ner­al ser­vice of T&T foot­baller Ja­son "Nel­ly" Mar­cano, which was held at the Ari­ma Velo­drome.

36-year-old Mar­cano died in a ve­hic­u­lar ac­ci­dent on May 30th in his home town of Ari­ma.

He rep­re­sent­ed Trinidad and To­ba­go 12 times dur­ing a ca­reer that saw him achieve promi­nence in the game do­mes­ti­cal­ly.

Mar­cano, al­so known as "Nel­ly" rep­re­sent­ed sev­er­al TT Pro League clubs in­clud­ing W. Con­nec­tion, San Juan Jabloteh and most re­cent­ly Cen­tral FC, with whom he won three con­sec­u­tive Pro League ti­tles as well as a hat­trick of CFU Caribbean Club Cham­pi­onships.
