The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) will be leading a physical Trade Mission to Guyana next week—28th to 31st March 2022. The delegation will be led by TTMA President Tricia Coosal.
An official statement from the business lobby reports that the TTMA president will be joined by Dr. Ramesh Ramdeen, Chief Executive Officer, TTMA; Dhanraj Harrypersad, General Manager, exporTT; and Navin Dookeran, Chief Executive Officer, EXIM Bank.
“TTMA looks forward to this physical trade mission on the invitation of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali during his address at our President’s Dinner and Awards in November 2021, as we seek to pursue our goal of our Export Manufacturing Strategy of doubling non-energy exports by 2025,” the TTMA President stated.
“TTMA has continued to pursue Guyana as an export market of interest on behalf of our members, hosting a Virtual Trade Mission in 2021 due to COVID-19,” she reported. “This physical Trade Mission will consist of 21 local manufacturers, comprising the Food and Beverage, Printing and Packaging, Chemicals and Construction sectors.”
She added: “This mission is just one of many that is being pursued within the Export Booster Initiative that is being facilitated by exporTT in attempting to further find avenues for local manufacturers to compete in the regional and international markets.”
According to the TTMA release, next week’s in-person trade delegation is just one element of the TTMA’s strategy to strengthen its relationship with Guyana. The organisation says it will be hosting trade missions to Guyana annually.
In addition, it will be facilitating the participation of Guyanese companies at TIC2022.
The TTMA also confirms that a webinar featuring Rafeek Khan, President of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association, will take place on 5th April 2022, following its trade mission to Guyana.
