The Trinidad and To­ba­go Man­u­fac­tur­ers’ As­so­ci­a­tion (TTMA) will be lead­ing a phys­i­cal Trade Mis­sion to Guyana next week—28th to 31st March 2022.  The del­e­ga­tion will be led by TTMA Pres­i­dent Tri­cia Coos­al.

An of­fi­cial state­ment from the busi­ness lob­by re­ports that the TTMA pres­i­dent will be joined by Dr. Ramesh Ramdeen, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer, TTMA; Dhan­raj Har­ryper­sad, Gen­er­al Man­ag­er, ex­porTT; and Navin Dook­er­an, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer, EX­IM Bank.

“TTMA looks for­ward to this phys­i­cal trade mis­sion on the in­vi­ta­tion of His Ex­cel­len­cy Dr. Mo­hamed Ir­faan Ali dur­ing his ad­dress at our Pres­i­dent’s Din­ner and Awards in No­vem­ber 2021, as we seek to pur­sue our goal of our Ex­port Man­u­fac­tur­ing Strat­e­gy of dou­bling non-en­er­gy ex­ports by 2025,” the TTMA Pres­i­dent stat­ed.

“TTMA has con­tin­ued to pur­sue Guyana as an ex­port mar­ket of in­ter­est on be­half of our mem­bers, host­ing a Vir­tu­al Trade Mis­sion in 2021 due to COVID-19,” she re­port­ed.  “This phys­i­cal Trade Mis­sion will con­sist of 21 lo­cal man­u­fac­tur­ers, com­pris­ing the Food and Bev­er­age, Print­ing and Pack­ag­ing, Chem­i­cals and Con­struc­tion sec­tors.”

She added: “This mis­sion is just one of many that is be­ing pur­sued with­in the Ex­port Boost­er Ini­tia­tive that is be­ing fa­cil­i­tat­ed by ex­porTT in at­tempt­ing to fur­ther find av­enues for lo­cal man­u­fac­tur­ers to com­pete in the re­gion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al mar­kets.”

Ac­cord­ing to the TTMA re­lease, next week’s in-per­son trade del­e­ga­tion is just one el­e­ment of the TTMA’s strat­e­gy to strength­en its re­la­tion­ship with Guyana. The or­gan­i­sa­tion says it will be host­ing trade mis­sions to Guyana an­nu­al­ly. 

In ad­di­tion, it will be fa­cil­i­tat­ing the par­tic­i­pa­tion of Guyanese com­pa­nies at TIC2022. 

The TTMA al­so con­firms that a we­bi­nar fea­tur­ing Rafeek Khan, Pres­i­dent of the Guyana Man­u­fac­tur­ing and Ser­vices As­so­ci­a­tion, will take place on 5th April 2022, fol­low­ing its trade mis­sion to Guyana.
