The management of the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost) says it has extended an official invitation to the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Workers' Union (TTPWU) to commence formal negotiations.

In an official statement, the company revealed that it had sent the invitation for wage talks on Monday, November 25, 2024, and that they are set to begin the negotiation sessions on December 2, 2024—pending confirmation from the TTPWU.

For the past several weeks, TTPost workers have been protesting and calling for the commencement of salary negotiations.

In the media release, TTPost noted that these negotiations will focus on the collective bargaining periods 2011–2013, 2014–2016 and 2017–2019.

“These sessions are expected to continue over the following weeks to allow for thorough discussions and consideration of all matters. The negotiation process will be conducted in the spirit of collaboration and transparency, ensuring that both parties have an opportunity to discuss and resolve the key issues,” TTPost said.

TTPost also said it is confident that through cooperative efforts, they will achieve a successful and equitable outcome that benefits all parties involved.

“We remain fully committed to ensuring minimal disruption to services during this period and will continue to work diligently to serve the needs of the public,” the company’s statement said.
