The nine-day event at Di­vali Na­gar has com­menced, and the TTPS as­sures that all mea­sures have been im­ple­ment­ed to en­sure the safe­ty of all vis­i­tors to the Di­vali Na­gar site. De­tails fol­low in this press re­lease...

Act­ing Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Er­la Christo­pher is giv­ing the as­sur­ance to the pub­lic that all nec­es­sary mea­sures have been put in place to en­sure the safe­ty and se­cu­ri­ty of vis­i­tors to the Di­vali Na­gar site, lo­cat­ed at Narsa­loo Ra­maya Road, En­deav­our, Ch­agua­nas.

Ac­cord­ing to the Act­ing CoP, “The high­ly an­tic­i­pat­ed event is ex­pect­ed to at­tract thou­sands of vis­i­tors from through­out the coun­try, and as such of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion have made the nec­es­sary se­cu­ri­ty and traf­fic arrange­ments to en­sure the suc­cess­ful host­ing of the event.”

The nine-day cel­e­bra­tion be­gan with­out in­ci­dent yes­ter­day, Sat­ur­day 15th Oc­to­ber 2022, and con­tin­ues un­til Sun­day 23rd Oc­to­ber. An es­ti­mat­ed 3000 per­sons were in at­ten­dance last evening and the num­bers are ex­pect­ed to in­crease in the lead-up to the Di­vali hol­i­day cel­e­bra­tions.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) is ready to deal with any in­ci­dents that may arise from host­ing large crowds at such an event.

The cel­e­bra­tion com­mences dai­ly from 4 pm to mid­night and on the last day is ex­pect­ed to run un­til1am.
