The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) has reappointed Dr Keith Nurse, a Trinidad and Tobago national and Principal and CEO of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, as a member of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP) for a third three-year term starting January 2022. Dr Nurse has also served in the executive bureau of the CDP for the past two terms.
The announcement of the new members for the CDP was published in a press release on December 13, 2021 by Liu Zhenmin, Under Secretary-General of the United Nations.
The CDP, a subsidiary body of the United Nations, provides independent advice to the ECOSOC on development policy issues such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and is also responsible for deciding inclusion in and graduation from the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) group.
