Two men were arrested by officers of the Port of Spain Division, shortly after they allegedly robbed a female victim of a gold chain and cellular phone on Friday.
Officers were on patrol at the corner of Duncan Street and Independence Square, between 4 pm and 8 pm when they received
information about two male suspects being involved in a report of larceny a short time earlier.
The officers responded to the report and observed the suspects attempting to escape along Duncan Street.
The men, ages 18 and 19 of Port of Spain and Barataria, were arrested and the stolen items recovered.
Meanwhile, Shiva Balkissoon, 38, of Rousillac, appeared in court, charged in connection with a report of Larceny, which occurred on Thursday in the Chaguanas district.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $30,000.
The accused was also ordered to report to the Oropouche Police Station once a week.
Shanker Ablack, 42, and Alexia Ablack, 23, both of Petit Valley, also appeared before Master Goswami, after being arrested and charged in connection with a report of Larceny which occurred in the Chaguanas district on October 15.
Shanker pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $4,300 and placed on a bond to keep the peace for two years, while Alexia pleaded not guilty and was granted own bail in the sum of $10,000.
And, SHAUGHN CHARLES, 33 and JOSIAH LEGERTON, 25, both of St. Joseph, were arrested and charged in connection with a report of Larceny in the Chaguanas district on September 26th.
They appeared before Master Goswami and pleaded not guilty to the charges. The accused were granted own bail in the sum of $40,000 each and ordered to report to the St. Joseph Police Station once a month.
