A mo­bile pa­trol in the North East­ern Di­vi­sion led to the ar­rest of two men and the seizure of am­mu­ni­tion and drugs.

Of­fi­cers stopped a gold Nis­san Ti­i­da dri­ven by a 21-year-old man from El So­cor­ro. When asked for his doc­u­ments, he ad­mit­ted he had nev­er been is­sued a valid Trinidad and To­ba­go dri­ver’s per­mit. Fur­ther checks con­firmed this, and he was tak­en to the Barataria Po­lice Sta­tion, where he was charged with:

-Dri­ving with­out a valid dri­ver’s per­mit

-Dri­ving with­out a valid cer­tifi­cate of in­sur­ance

The of­fi­cers then searched a bushy area at Girez Trace, El So­cor­ro, where they found 20 rounds of 5.56 am­mu­ni­tion. Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tors seized the am­mu­ni­tion and took it to the San Juan Po­lice Sta­tion.

Lat­er, of­fi­cers stopped a 31-year-old man from El So­cor­ro dri­ving a blue Maz­da 3. A search of his car un­cov­ered pack­ets of co­caine on the front pas­sen­ger seat. He was ar­rest­ed and tak­en to the Barataria Po­lice Sta­tion, where he was charged with pos­ses­sion of co­caine.
