An an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion con­duct­ed across the Mor­vant, San Juan, St. Joseph, Port of Spain Di­vi­sion, and sur­round­ing po­lice dis­tricts has led to the ar­rest of two men and the seizure of cannabis, co­caine, and am­mu­ni­tion.

On Sun­day, of­fi­cers cor­doned off Do­ra­ta Street, where a sys­tem­at­ic search of the area—in­clud­ing aban­doned build­ings, derelict ve­hi­cles, and emp­ty lots—re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of; 17 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion, 7 rounds of 5.56 am­mu­ni­tion.

Near­by, of­fi­cers al­so found and seized a clear plas­tic bag con­tain­ing ap­prox­i­mate­ly 21 grams of co­caine.

At ap­prox­i­mate­ly 7:20 p.m., of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to the res­i­dence of a 28-year-old man at Laven­tille Road, Febeau Vil­lage, San Juan. A search of the premis­es, con­duct­ed un­der the Emer­gency Pow­ers Reg­u­la­tions, led to the dis­cov­ery of; 29 clear pack­ets of cannabis to­tal­ing 64.7 grams and two cam­ou­flage pants.

The sus­pect was in­formed of the of­fences, ar­rest­ed, ad­vised of his rights, and trans­port­ed to the San Juan Po­lice Sta­tion for pro­cess­ing.

Lat­er, at ap­prox­i­mate­ly 9:00 p.m., act­ing on fur­ther in­tel­li­gence, of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to Rapsey Street, Curepe, where they ar­rest­ed a 35-year-old man from Snake Val­ley, Laven­tille, for pos­ses­sion of 223 grams of cannabis. While search­ing a near­by va­cant lot, of­fi­cers al­so dis­cov­ered a clear plas­tic pack­et con­tain­ing ap­prox­i­mate­ly 4.98 grams of co­caine. The sus­pect was trans­port­ed to the St. Joseph Po­lice Sta­tion.

In a sep­a­rate ex­er­cise con­duct­ed be­tween 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., of­fi­cers car­ried out mo­bile and foot pa­trols in Bel­mont, East Port of Spain, and ar­eas of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion.

Dur­ing these pa­trols, at 11:05 a.m., of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered and seized a plas­tic bag con­tain­ing 134 grams of cannabis.

In a sep­a­rate search on George Street, of­fi­cers seized 7.4 grams of co­caine. This op­er­a­tion was car­ried out by of­fi­cers from the North East­ern Di­vi­sion.
