Two men have been de­tained and are as­sist­ing of­fi­cers with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to a spate of rob­beries in Ch­agua­nas.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, on Au­gust 13th, of­fi­cers at­tached to the Ch­aguab­nas Po­lice sta­tion were on mo­bile pa­trol along Eleanor Street, Ch­agua­nas, when they came up­on two men who were be­hav­ing sus­pi­cious­ly.

The of­fi­cers ap­proached the men and iden­ti­fied them­selves and the men im­me­di­ate­ly ran off. PCs Grant and Chait­lal gave chase and the men were ap­pre­hend­ed a short dis­tance lat­er. The of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a search of the men and dis­cov­ered one Beretta nine mil­lime­tre pis­tol fit­ted with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 14 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion stuck in the pants waist of one of the men.

The men, aged 21 and 19, both from En­ter­prise, Ch­agua­nas, were im­me­di­ate­ly ar­rest­ed. Charges are ex­pect­ed to be laid af­ter the men are placed on iden­ti­fi­ca­tion pa­rades. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
