Two first-time winners have been crowned this year's Carnival King and Queen

Ray­mond Mark and Priya Na­gas­sar eclipsed nine com­peti­tors in each com­pe­ti­tion to cop the top prizes at the end of the Di­manche Gras show at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah, a short while ago.

Mark, in his eighth year in the com­pe­ti­tion, sur­passed peren­ni­al win­ner Ted Eu­stace, who was hop­ing to se­cure his fifth ti­tle in this year's com­pe­ti­tion.

Last year's Car­ni­val Queen Shynel Brizan nar­row­ly missed out on suc­cess­ful­ly de­fend­ing her crown as she placed third.

Last year's Car­ni­val King Joseph, who al­so shared the top prize with Brizan in 2019, al­so placed third in the Car­ni­val King com­pe­ti­tion.
