An 18-year-old was among two people detained in connection with an attempted robbery at a bar in Marabella, early yesterday morning. Officers also seized a firearm and cutlass.
Police yesterday said that around 12.29 am on October 3, the proprietor of a bar along Union Road, Marabella, was conducting business when two men entered the establishment and announced a robbery.
The men ordered the patrons to lie on the floor, while one of the suspects pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the proprietor and attempted to gain access to an area of the bar.
However, the gate was secured.
The men subsequently left the establishment without taking anything of value. A Marabella patrol, including PC Ramnath and PC Adams, later detained two men in the vicinity.
The suspects were identified as 18- and 20-year-old men.
One revolver containing three rounds of .38 Special ammunition and one cutlass were recovered.
Police Constable Ramnath is continuing inquiries.
