Two men were ar­rest­ed and a stolen ve­hi­cle re­cov­ered dur­ing sev­er­al po­lice op­er­a­tions in the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion on Fri­day.

A TTPS state­ment yes­ter­day said a 25-year-old man from Gail Trace, Palmiste, Long­denville, was ar­rest­ed on an out­stand­ing war­rant dur­ing Op­er­a­tion Res­olute Shield in the Long­denville Po­lice Dis­trict be­tween 6 pm and 10 pm.

Sev­er­al peo­ple were stopped and searched dur­ing the op­er­a­tion.

In a sep­a­rate in­tel­li­gence-led op­er­a­tion in the Cou­va Polic­ing Dis­trict and en­vi­rons, a 28-year-old man from De­mer­ara Road, Ari­ma, was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with a re­port of lar­ce­ny from the per­son made on Wednes­day.

The op­er­a­tion was con­duct­ed be­tween 10 am and 2 pm un­der Op­er­a­tion Watch­tow­er 2026, which po­lice said was aimed at restor­ing pub­lic or­der, sup­press­ing vi­o­lent crime, dis­rupt­ing gang ac­tiv­i­ty and en­sur­ing pub­lic safe­ty.

Mean­while, of­fi­cers of the Cunu­pia CID re­cov­ered a white Nis­san Ti­i­da which had been re­port­ed stolen.

The ve­hi­cle was re­port­ed miss­ing around 2.30 am af­ter its own­er dis­cov­ered that it had been stolen from the dri­ve­way of his home. The mat­ter was re­port­ed at the Ch­agua­nas Po­lice Sta­tion and the scene was vis­it­ed.

The ve­hi­cle was sub­se­quent­ly re­cov­ered and tak­en to the Cunu­pia Po­lice Sta­tion for safe­keep­ing and pro­cess­ing.

The Cou­va op­er­a­tion was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Bhag­wan­deen, Supt Glodon, ASP Har­riper­sad, A/In­sp Ram­per­sad and Sgt Ram­di­al, and su­per­vised by Cpl Moti­ram, to­geth­er with of­fi­cers from the Cou­va CID.
