A Longdenville man was scheduled to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate yesterday, charged with the murder of Kurt Edwards which occurred on Saturday 18th January this year.
Kosi Jeremiah, 40, of Lamont Street, Longdenville, Chaguanas, was charged with the offence following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on Wednesday.
Police said the victim, Edwards 28, of Longdenville, Chaguanas, was found dead with stab wounds about the body on Saturday 18th January at Lamont Street, in the vicinity of the Longdenville Hindu Temple.
He was involved in a heated altercation with another man when he was attacked and killed.
Jeremiah was arrested by officers of the Longdenville Police Post on that same date in connection with the incident.
Investigations were supervised by Insp. (Ag.) Darryl Corrie and Insp. (Ag.) Allister Jones, both of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region
3, while Jeremiah was charged by WPC Prince, also of HBI Region 3, on Wednesday.
And a Marabelle man was also scheduled to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate yesterday charged with the 2018 murder of Akeil Clarke.
According to police, Cowen Williams, 32, of Ghandi Street, Marabella, was charged with the offence following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on Tuesday.
Clarke, 29, of Theresa Street, Marabella, was found dead in the area on June 21 2018, with gunshot wounds about the body.
Investigating officers arrested Williams in connection with the incident on Thursday 16 January this year in the Cunupia district by officers of the Central Division.
Investigations were supervised by Insp. (Ag.) Darryl Corrie, Insp. (Ag.) Allister Jones and Sgt. Ramjag, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 3, while Williams was charged by PC Ramnarine, also of HBI Region 3.
