Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the mur­der of a Diego Mar­tin man on Tues­day af­ter­noon.

Ri­car­do Moreno, 22, was shot dead in the Wa­ter­wheel, Diego Mar­tin area at around 5.52 pm.

Po­lice, who re­spond­ed to a re­port of the shoot­ing in­ci­dent at An­drew Trace and Wa­ter­wheel Road, said they saw a group of peo­ple car­ry­ing an in­jured per­son in a bed­sheet with gun­shot wounds.

The fa­ther of the vic­tim and res­i­dents told the of­fi­cers he had just been shot by un­known peo­ple and the po­lice sub­se­quent­ly took Moreno to the St James In­fir­mary, where he died.

A team of of­fi­cers from the West End Po­lice Sta­tion and Homi­cide Bu­reau Re­gion I are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.

In an­oth­er in­ci­dent yes­ter­day, a Paria man was shot at the side of the road while cut­ting grass.

Akeem Gar­cia, 32, was at the Bras­so Seco Junc­tion at 7.30 am when he was shot sev­er­al times.

Po­lice went to the area with a dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer, who de­clared Gar­cia dead.
