Two teenaged girls were raped by people known to them in separate incidents on Saturday.
In one incident a 14-year-old was attacked by a16-year-old relative.
Police reported that around 1:45 am, the victim was at home asleep when she woke up to use the washroom.
She reported that while there she saw her cousin, who does not live at her Carapichaima home. The teen then grabbed her hand, took her into her bedroom and raped her.
The attacker then ran out the house.
The second incident took place at the victim’s Malabar home around 2 am last Saturday.
Police said the 17-year-old victim allowed her attacker, her ex-boyfriend, also 17, to enter her bedroom window around 2 am.
The attacker claimed he wanted to discuss their break-up and on entering, held her down and raped her. After the attack, he jumped through the bedroom window and fled.
