Two teenagers remained in critical condition at the San Fernando General Hospital last evening, after they were shot in Fyzabad.
The injured teens were identified as Jamari Edwards, 16 and Jamali Norray, 17, both of Fyzabad.
Police said around 12.15 am yesterday, Cpl Sookoo and PC Lutchman responded to a report of a shooting in progress at Easy Street, Fyzabad.
When the officers got to the location, they found both Edwards and Norray lying on the pavement nursing gunshot wounds. Police found them both lying near Gowers Well Road Junction.
The officers interviewed both teenagers, who said around 12.05 am, they were near a shop on Easy Street when they heard two explosions and felt a burning sensation on their lower backs.
Both teenagers were taken by EHS personnel to the San Fernando General Hospital, where they are both resting in critical condition last night.
Crime Scene Investigator PC Simbhoo processed the scene, but police said nothing of evidential value was recovered. Officers canvassed the area for CCTV footage and searched for the suspect, but no arrest has yet been made. - RADHICA DE SILVA
