Two teenagers re­mained in crit­i­cal con­di­tion at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal last evening, af­ter they were shot in Fyz­abad.

The in­jured teens were iden­ti­fied as Ja­mari Ed­wards, 16  and Ja­mali Nor­ray, 17, both of Fyz­abad.

Po­lice said around 12.15 am yes­ter­day, Cpl Sookoo and PC Lutch­man re­spond­ed to a re­port of a shoot­ing in progress at Easy Street, Fyz­abad.

When the of­fi­cers got to the lo­ca­tion, they found both Ed­wards and Nor­ray ly­ing on the pave­ment nurs­ing gun­shot wounds. Po­lice found them both ly­ing near Gow­ers Well Road Junc­tion.

The of­fi­cers in­ter­viewed both teenagers, who said around 12.05 am, they were near a shop on Easy Street when they heard two ex­plo­sions and felt a burn­ing sen­sa­tion on their low­er backs. 

Both teenagers were tak­en by EHS per­son­nel to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, where they are both rest­ing in crit­i­cal con­di­tion last night.

Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tor PC Simb­hoo processed the scene, but po­lice said noth­ing of ev­i­den­tial val­ue was re­cov­ered. Of­fi­cers can­vassed the area for CCTV footage and searched for the sus­pect, but no ar­rest has yet been made. - RAD­HI­CA DE SIL­VA
