The Urban Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Udecott) has given an update on a fire at Tower C of the Waterfront Complex, stating that at approximately 2:45 pm today, during ongoing maintenance works at the International Waterfront Centre, Tower C, a fire broke out in the heating element of the roofing membrane that is currently being replaced.
Udecott said the fire was quickly extinguished within minutes, and all safety protocols were promptly followed.
“There was no immediate threat to life or safety. In line with our Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) protocols, the building was evacuated as a precautionary measure due to smoke entering the fresh air intake system,” Udecott added.
“We want to reassure all stakeholders that the situation is under control, and the building continues to be monitored closely. Our priority remains the safety and well-being of all personnel and visitors. We will continue to provide updates as needed and are working diligently to make sure the situation is fully resolved,” Udecott said.
