With elec­tion sea­son in full swing, the UNC and PNM took to their plat­forms to ral­ly sup­port­ers and launch point­ed po­lit­i­cal salvos at each oth­er.

UNC LEADER KAM­LA PER­SAD-BISES­SAR at Thurs­day's UNC Labour Fo­rum in Cou­va: "Af­ter sev­er­al meet­ings, we had in­ten­sive di­a­logue with the ex­ec­u­tives and lead­er­ships of the var­i­ous unions, and I tell yuh, dem fel­las ent easy, eh. We at the ta­ble, they're putting their pro­pos­als, and lis­ten, I ent easy too; I had­da push back. At the end, we came up with the pro­pos­als for the Work­ers Agen­da."

PRIME MIN­IS­TER STU­ART YOUNG at Thurs­day's Ch­agua­nas meet­ing: "You can't have peo­ple of­fer­ing to serve in the Cab­i­net who the in­tel­li­gence agen­cies glob­al­ly won't share in­for­ma­tion with! I heard some­body of­fer him­self as the next Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter, ly­ing, say­ing we don't have tech­nol­o­gy and ours is from the 1800s/1900s. Lie! Look at who they us­ing to mes­sage! I'm not go­ing to stand by qui­et­ly and see Cam­bridge An­a­lyt­i­ca 2.0 by the UNC oc­cur­ring again! That's a pro­mo­tion of crime and crim­i­nal­i­ty."
