The body of an uniden­ti­fied man was dis­cov­ered by po­lice at the Debe Recre­ation Ground on Sat­ur­day.

When of­fi­cers ar­rived at the scene around 8.08 am, they met an emer­gency med­ical tech­ni­cian who in­di­cat­ed that the man was al­ready dead when they got there.

The body was in a kneel­ing po­si­tion over the pavil­ion stairs on a white sheet, mo­tion­less and un­re­spon­sive clad in a black jer­sey and black short pants.

Clutched in his hand was a pre­scrip­tion with the name “Kadoo Samai” and bags with cloth­ing were near his body.

The de­ceased was de­scribed as East In­di­an de­scent, slim built, grey­ing low hair, grey­ing low beard, brown com­plex­ion, ap­prox­i­mate­ly five feet, nine inch­es tall and ap­peared to be in his late 50s.

Po­lice said the dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer ob­served no marks of vi­o­lence on the body. An au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be done at the San Fer­nan­do mor­tu­ary.
