The body of an unidentified man was discovered by police at the Debe Recreation Ground on Saturday.
When officers arrived at the scene around 8.08 am, they met an emergency medical technician who indicated that the man was already dead when they got there.
The body was in a kneeling position over the pavilion stairs on a white sheet, motionless and unresponsive clad in a black jersey and black short pants.
Clutched in his hand was a prescription with the name “Kadoo Samai” and bags with clothing were near his body.
The deceased was described as East Indian descent, slim built, greying low hair, greying low beard, brown complexion, approximately five feet, nine inches tall and appeared to be in his late 50s.
Police said the district medical officer observed no marks of violence on the body. An autopsy is expected to be done at the San Fernando mortuary.
San Fernando police are investigating.
