Police are trying to identify the body of a man that was found in a stream in Morvant on Saturday morning.
Police said a police officer assigned to the Transport and Telecom Branch was approached by a homeless man at around 9.50 am who told him that a body was found lying in a water course off PG Trace, Morvant.
Officers of the North Eastern Division were called in and found the body of the man lying on his back in a shallow pool of water about 50 feet off the Western side of the Lady Young Road, Morvant.
Investigators said the man was wearing a brown shirt with a pair of black long pants with a slab of concrete over the head and face.
A district medical officer was called in who declared the man dead.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
