Po­lice are try­ing to iden­ti­fy the body of a man that was found in a stream in Mor­vant on Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said a po­lice of­fi­cer as­signed to the Trans­port and Tele­com Branch was ap­proached by a home­less man at around 9.50 am who told him that a body was found ly­ing in a wa­ter course off PG Trace, Mor­vant.

Of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion were called in and found the body of the man ly­ing on his back in a shal­low pool of wa­ter about 50 feet off the West­ern side of the La­dy Young Road, Mor­vant.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the man was wear­ing a brown shirt with a pair of black long pants with a slab of con­crete over the head and face.

A dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer was called in who de­clared the man dead.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion II are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
