The southbound lane of Uriah Butler Highway remains impassable after the Guayamare River overflowed its banks earlier today.
In an update just over an hour ago, the Ministry of Works and Transport said only high vehicles and trucks were being allowed to divert to the northbound lane, which was also flooded, until Munroe Road.
Following is the listing of the status of roadways across the country:
North Coast Road - Fallen trees and landslips along the road. Single lane traffic
Heights of Aripo - 5 slips cleared, single-lane traffic
Arima Blanchisseuse Road - fallen trees cleared
Paria Road 55km - 61km landslips cleared, single-lane traffic
Eastern Main Road, Sangre Grande - water subsided in the town area.
Eastern Main Road, Manzanilla - Flooding subsiding, cars able to pass.
North Oropouche Road and Fishing Pond Road - The flood water has started to subside
Cunapo Southern Road - landslips blocking roadway at some points. Flooding in some areas. Cars are able to pass from the 9km-22km
Caroni - Uriah Butler Highway flooded Southbound. High vehicles and trucks diverted to Northbound until Munroe Road.
Uriah Butler Highway northbound flooded. High vehicles and trucks can pass.
Warrenville Road Cunupia flooded.
