The University of the West Indies’ Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business (UWI-ALJGSB) have emerged winners of the 25th Anniversary National Tertiary Level Quiz on the securities industry, hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC).
The finals of the competition were held earlier this week on Wednesday 19 October 2022. The competition’s theme was You Invest. We Protect. Everyone Benefits!
A release from the TTSEC reports the final battle came down to two teams—The University of the West Indies’ Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business (UWI-ALJGSB) and the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies (CCLS)—both vying for the champions trophy, $15,000 to be invested in the local securities market, gold medals and bragging rights.
“In the end, UWI-ALJGSB represented by Christian Brooker, Teddy-Ann Quamina, Alexander Ramlogan, and led by their coach Dr. Miguel Dindial emerged victorious,” the TTSEC release confirmed.
The team from Cipriani College comprised Nicholas Charles, Monifa Cudjoe, Shania John and coach Nichelle Rodulfo. They won $9,000 to be invested in the local securities market, along with silver medals.
“The TTSEC takes this opportunity to thank all the schools, students and teachers for their participation in the TTSEC’s first national quiz competition which, in addition to the finalists, also included the Council of Legal Education (Hugh Wooding Law School); CTS College of Business and Computer Science Limited (CTS College); and UWI School of Business and Applied Studies Limited (Trading as ROYTEC),” the release said. “We also extend gratitude to CBTT/NFLP, as part-sponsor of the prizes of this competition.”
All students in the competition received tokens and tablets courtesy the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago’s National Financial Literacy Programme (CBTT/NFLP) and certificates from the TTSEC.
