RHONDOR DOWLAT-ROSTANT
A possible land dispute may be at the heart of the shooting and wounding of a 38-year-old Valencia man on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a police report, at about 2:30 pm on Wednesday 7 April, the victim was at Sunset Drive, off Benny Road in Valencia, having a conversation with his neighbours near his home about the sale of land in the area, when he was approached by a man from the community who told him to leave.
The man then allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the victim several times, wounding him in the right hand and foot.
The suspect then ran away.
The police were notified, and the victim was taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital where he was treated and warded. He is said to be in a stable condition.
Sgt Scipio, Sgt Leon, PC Gualbance, WPC Kheerai, and other officers visited the scene of the shooting incident and recovered seven spent 9 mm shells on the location.
Enquires are ongoing.
