The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has advised that customers in parts of Point Fortin who are experiencing low pressures or no water, that this is due to a shortfall in supply caused by the recent rupture of the 36” transmission line located at the Godineau Bridge, Mosquito Creek, San Fernando.
The affected areas include E. Street and Extension, Southern Gardens, Munroe Road, Gregory Street, New Village, Fanny Village, Country Trace, Spring Trace, Hawk Avenue and the high points of Egypt Village.
WASA said repair works at the Godineau Bridge, Mosquito Creek, were completed on Friday 21st October 2022, with supply carefully restored to affected areas.
The Authority further advised that supply to Point Fortin was fully restored at approximately 12:30 am today.
However, it advised that it may take 24 to 48 hours to rebuild pressures to normalize the scheduled pipe-borne water supply to customers at some elevated areas of the distribution system.
