The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) says the raw water quality in the Caroni River has improved and operations at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant has been normalised.
In a press release issued today, WASA assured customers that the water being produced at the plant is safe and meets the standards of the Guidelines for Drinking Water of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Some discolouration of the supply may occur as operations on the Authority’s transmission systems are stabilised.
Customers are reminded that it may take up to 48 hours for the pipe-borne water supply to normalize to some areas in keeping with established water supply schedules.
