With more than a week since he was last seen, relatives of 68-year-old Harripersad Mungroo are seeking the public's help to find him.
Fondly known as Sugars, the grandfather left his home at Jonestown, Ben Lomond Village, Williamsville for San Fernando on September 13.
He would usually take public transportation, his niece Melissa Mangroo said.
He was dressed in long khaki pants and a black a white shirt.
Melissa told Guardian Media that her uncle lives with his wife and one of his daughters.
He has four children.
She said he suffers from diabetes and was not well.
It is believed that he was going to the San Fernando General Hospital.
However, he failed to return home.
A report was made at the police station the following morning.
"We knew something was wrong. It is not like him not to return home," she lamented.
She said no one saw where he went after he left home or whether he got into a taxi.
"Everybody who knows him is looking out for him right now and nobody has any luck," she added.
Melissa said they also searched "every inch" of the hospital but there was no trace of him.
Melissa had a similar incident with his brother who is her father. He went missing for about two days and was eventually found a few streets away sitting on the side of the road unaware of his surroundings.
"He (Mungroo) is in his right mind but I don't know if he just trip because I know when you have sickness and is on medication a lot of times their brain just stop functioning properly."
Appealing to anyone who may have seen him or knows where he might be to contact his family or the police, she said, "Everybody is worried. We don't want to think anything bad. We just staying positive."
She can be contacted through her Facebook page Melissa M Plaza or 330-2022.
Anyone with information can also contact the police at 555, 800-TIPS, 999 or through the TTPS App or Website.
