Woman arrested after slapping police officer boyfriend

A 30-year-old woman is in po­lice cus­tody af­ter she was held for as­sault­ing her boyfriend and steal­ing his items af­ter an ar­gu­ment in Cunu­pia on Tues­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said the boyfriend, who is al­so a po­lice of­fi­cer, was dri­ving the woman to a doc­tor's ap­point­ment at around 12.21 pm when they got in­to an ar­gu­ment.

The woman re­port­ed­ly slapped the man on the left side of his face be­fore grab­bing his de­sign­er glass­es, his cap and run­ning out of the car on­to the South­ern Main Road.

The cap and glass­es are worth an es­ti­mat­ed $4,932.

The man made a re­port and po­lice ar­rest­ed the woman, tak­ing her to the Cunu­pia Po­lice Sta­tion.

Of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
