A D’Abadie woman was reportedly assaulted by her ex-boyfriend and his family during a visit to their home on Monday.
The 33-year-old woman of Swallow Lane, Maloney Gardens, reportedly went to the home of her former partner at Gull Terrace around 2.30 am.
It was alleged the woman had an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, his brother and their father, whom it is believed is a police officer.
Following the incident, the woman reportedly left for home but claimed the three men followed her, restrained her against her will, and dragged her back to their home, where they all took turns kicking and cuffing her about her body, causing injuries.
Residents who witnessed the altercation raised an alarm and officers from the Maloney Police Station responded. They took the injured woman to the Arima Hospital, where she was treated and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope.
The woman was warded in a stable but critical condition up to yesterday after suffering two broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a laceration to the head.
